2017: Tjarda continues her studies in yoga and completed an Vinyasa style Yoga Teacher Training based on the principles of Ashtanga (RYT200) in Taipei (Taiwan) lead by Adarsh Williams (USA).


2017: Tjarda attends Unmata’s 5-day ITS level 1 & 2 intensive in Taipei Taiwan.


2016: As the Movement Director of HipSick Unusual Theatre, Tjarda creates a the special themed performance “ANTAGO” in collaboration with the Artistic Director Nadîja Broekhart, which was premiered at the Shimmy Shake Festival 2016 and has been showcased at Rebella Pirata 2017.


2016: As the Movement Director of HipSick Unusual Theatre, Tjarda creates “9 TO LIFE” in collaboration with the Artistic Director Nadîja Broekhart and the HipSick members, which was created at a residency offered by Trezart Internationaal Straatkunstenfestival in 2016.


2016: Concept, Choreography & Artistic Direction for the Fusion Bellydance POP-UP Performance for the Shimmy Shake Festival with 30 dancers in collaboration with Nadîja Broekhart. (November 6)


2016: Together with colleague Hilde Cannoodt, Tjarda creates a 20 minute dance piece with local dancers for the Ubumuntu Arts Festival in Kigali/Rwanda under the title “Movement for Humanity”. This dance project was funded through a kickstarter campaign to help the arts scene in Rwanda grow.


2015: As the Movement Director of HipSick Unusual Theatre, Tjarda creates a the special themed performance “APORIA”in collaboration with the Artistic Director Nadîja Broekhart, which has been chosen as one of the winners of the LISFE Art Competition 2016.


2013 – 2015: Tjarda became a Certified Movement Analyst in the Laban/Bartenieff Movement System from the New York Institute of Movement Studies.


2014 & 2015: Concept, Choreography & Artistic Direction for the Fusion Bellydance Flashmob for the Shimmy Shake Festival with 60 dancers in collaboration with HipSick Unusual Theatre. (November 16)


2014 – 2015: Movement & Dance Coaching for the pop-opera NoResign by Muriel Kloek


2014: Tjarda participates in a weeklong intensive of Gaga Movements, led by Keren Rosenberg.


2013: In early 2013 Tjarda found her new partner in the talented Caterina Grimani from Italy to continue the captivating spirit of The Uzumé Dance Company. The piece “Consign to Oblivion” was their first piece and more will follow, watch on youtube


2012: Tjarda attends the 4-day intensive “LABAN-based Master Workshop for Choreographers and Dance Teachers” by Joan van der Mast (Certification)


2012: Tjarda attends the module “Jazz, toegespitst op didactiek” by Esther Nederpelt at the part-time teacher education at Fontys Dance Academy in Tilburg to deepen her skills as a teacher. (Certification)

2011: Tjarda launched her project INFUSION RENDEZVOUS to promote Tribal Fusion Bellydance and it’s community in The Netherlands. This project came from the desire to share, connect, inspire & educate dancers of all levels in this fusion style.


2011 – now: Tjarda has been coaching several cross-over dancers from Holland for the LiteSide Festival “Shimmy Shake: Factor Co and The Next Level”. A coachings project to enhance the level of dancers in the country.


2010/2011: “Tell Me How You Feel” – a world premiere of a collaborative duet of Samantha Emanuel (BDSS) and Tjarda.


2010: Tjarda studies at the “Yoga Docent Opleiding” to become a Yoga Instructor.


2010: Tjarda receives a grant from AFK & LiteSide Festival for talented upcoming choreographers to produce a cross-over project “LIGHTS” with Esther Nederpelt (modern jazz), Patricia Winklaar (hiphop) and Aukje Stoffele (whirler) which has been touring theatres in Holland in 2010 & 2011.


2009: Tjarda becomes a honorary member of USA-based troupe UNMATA and becomes a certified level 1 & 2 ITS teacher.


2008: Tjarda gets asked by the Hollywood Music Centre to perform on the DVD Tales of Desire II with today’s most influential tribal-fusion bellydance artists, which has been released in October 2009.


2008: Certification in the level 1 format of both Suhaila and Jamila Salimpour.


2008: Tjarda receives a grant from NFPK for talented dancers to study for six months in the US Amy Sigil, Suhaila & Jamilia Salimpour, Mira Betz and Heather Stants, among many others.


2008: Nomination by The National Institute for the Voluntary Arts in 2008 for Most Promising Upcoming Choreographer with Exquisite Skills.


2007: The Uzumé Dance Company produces their theatre show “WORLDDANCE CON FUSION” which sold out twice at Theater De Engelenbak.


2007: The Uzumé Dance Company wins first prize for Best Dance Company – Cross-over Choreography by the LiteSide Festival.


2006 – 2007: Tjarda auditions for the School for International Dance /  Worlddance and studies here for one year. (Certification)


2006: The Uzumé Dance Company wins the Global Open Stage contest by RASA & Zimihc and tours several theatres in Holland.
